Welcome to Taila Talks, the blog where, you guessed it: Taila talks. I'm a nerdy indie author with some occasional philosophical thoughts to share. Here you can follow my journey, wherever that may take me. I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center- Kurt Vonnegut.

I Lied... But Maybe I Really Am Back
Last time I posted to this blog, I said I was back, and sadly we all know now that that was a lie. The last eighteen months of my life has been super stressful. I don't want to get into all of that now, dwelling on the past will not solve anything. I have to let myself do things I haven't done much, writing is the first thing I want to seriously dive back into. My dreams of publishing have been put on hold, and it's time I put them back in my list of priorities.
I recently started reworking the first book I ever started writing, when I was 14. I'm very excited with the changes to the story, and can't wait to continue for the world to grow and change. Code Red, my only finished book, is still in need of editing and a cover. It's been hard to pick back up, my grandmother helped me name the book, and work through so many story problems as they cropped up. I need to finish it and put it out into the world for her memory, but I'm not quite ready to let go of it. I am trying to plot the second book, but so much has changed in me that I have no idea where I want to take it now. However, I can't continue to ignore it, I love the story, the characters, the world I build all the way back in 2017, and I want readers to finally love it as much as I do.
I'm going to start blogging again, it gives me a good outlet for my emotions, and to write something. I won't promise a schedule yet, I have to go back and see what series posts I'm going to continue. I have bunches of draft posts saved, so I'm going to try and start there. No promises when my next post will come, I will probably spend at least an hour or two a week writing up posts and schedule them out, so if I don't have time or don't feel like posting at least the blog can stay active.
As always, leave me comments, questions, and concerns.
