Welcome to Taila Talks, the blog where, you guessed it: Taila talks. I'm a nerdy indie author with some occasional philosophical thoughts to share. Here you can follow my journey, wherever that may take me. I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center- Kurt Vonnegut.

Movie Review: Thor: Ragnarok
Y'all I have been impatiently waiting for this movie since it was announced last year, I made plans months in advance to go opening weekend. I am a huge Marvel fan in general, but especially of Thor, and this movie did not disappoint me.
I will say that in my opinion it doesn't have the same tone as the first two Thor movies, it's quite a bit funnier, I was cracking up the whole time, but I was very happy with the way they took the characters. Some of you may already know this, but Loki is one of my all time favorites, and I was happy to see his character arc. My biggest issue (if you can call it that), is that the movie seemed shorter, I know it wasn't. We went to a 1:30pm showing, and left at 4pm, but it was so action packed there was never a moment where I felt like I had been sitting for a long time.
For you Norse mythology buffs, remember that Marvel doesn't follow the mythology when adapting the characters. I had to furrow my eyebrows and move on, but it didn't take away from the movie any at all. I do feel like Hela was an interesting villain, and I would like to see more of her at some point down the line, although I'm not sure we will.
The final after credit scene left me a bit confused, but I have no doubt Infinity War will answer those questions soon enough. At least I hope so.
I will not spoil the movie, because I'm sure many of you have not had a chance to go see it yet, but I can confidently say Thor: Ragnarok it now in my top three favorite Marvel movies.
Stars: 5/5 (100/5 just because Tom Hiddleston was looking damn fine).
